THE HISTORY OF COVENANT KINGDOM MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL

  • Covenant Kingdom Ministries International (CKMI), headquartered at Bethel Church of Love and Praise in Tinton Falls, NJ, is a Kingdom Building ministry established in April 2006. Bishop Charles W. Harris Jr. was formally elevated to office on May 19, 2007 where Bishop James H. Everett was the Chief Consecrator.

  • As time passed God allowed a body of believers birthed out of prayer and supplication before God to form. The first Pastor to be linked to CKMI was Pastor Annie Knight. It was not long before the Lord sent others. CKMI continues to grow a body of progressive congregations who epitomizes the love of God, which is ultimately what we need to win souls for the Kingdom. We are not established as a quasi-organization consisting of rebellious pastors and congregations, with a spirit of disorganization. Neither are we a ministry built upon a whimsical idea. Our heritage of integrity was the platform for our foundation and will be the seed for our future success.

We have been commissioned by the Spirit of God to establish, plant, and build ministries, and churches.

  • We seek to be innovative in our approach towards soul winning while aiming to provide a worship atmosphere that will be life changing. By His grace and wisdom we will also provide spiritual, academic, and fiscal support for our covenant pastors and ministries. Those who have entrusted us to be their covering ministry are sure to be cared for and supported with utmost sincerity and godly nurturing.

An organization's foundation must be firm, solid, and without cracks. Our builders must be leaders of impeccable character, integrity, and maturity. CKMI leaders must be willing to live by biblical principles and remain faithful to the church.

2 Peter 1: 5-8 (NIV) “For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith every goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

  • Your stature as a leader will be a direct representation of this ministry to other leaders, the church community, as well as the nations. The world has heard and witnessed its share of short- lived movements that make unfulfilled promises; therefore we must demonstrate our commitment to ministry excellence as not to become one of those ephemeral fads.

Pastors, iron sharpens iron. The spirit of competition and jealousy cannot be named among us. No one’s gift is any greater than that which is possessed by those who labor with you in God's vineyard. Each gift and unique anointing, endowed by the Father, all works together for the up-building of His Kingdom.

1 Corinthians 12 :4-7 (NIV) “There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. 5There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. 6There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. 7Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.”

  • We have a God-given mandate to preach and teach under the unction of the Holy Ghost, utilizing our skills and tools that have been acquired through consistent study and fervent prayer. We must maintain a level of ministry excellence that will attract and draw potential covenant members.

Your daily process of sanctifying yourself will be evident in your walk, conversation, and reaction to situations that will come without warning. The evidence of your spirit-filled life will not be judged solely by your ability to speak in tongues but by your fruit; the fruit of the spirit.

Galatians 5: 22-25 (NIV) “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires. 25Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.”

  • When faced with adversarial conditions let the Holy Spirit be the ruling agent, let prayer be your source of direction, and also possess a spirit of quick forgiveness when you have been found innocent when charged as the adversary. Remember, a leader's character is often proven in times of hardship and difficulty.

Accountability to fellow ministry leaders is, without question, a start to maintaining a Godly walk. Allow Godly leaders to advise you when you have become slack in areas that you once whole-heartedly embraced. Refuse the impulse to become an island by setting yourself apart from the rest of the body. This is an apparent strategy of the enemy. A leader who is accountable to no one will inevitably be uncounted.

Pastors, we are in a building mode. So everything and every moment counts; nothing is insignificant. Consequently, Leadership Training Classes (LTCs) should be a priority.

Experience may not always be a requirement, but a willing heart, obedience, and a submissive spirit is essential CKMI is a body of committed organizations and leaders whose sole purpose is to be Kingdom Builders for Eternal Life to the Glory and Honor of our Lord and Savior.

We are a ministry without compromise; building today while leaving an inheritance for generations to come.
